ince its foundation in 1940 pre-state Israel by
Dr. Ernst Seligsohn, the firm is recognized as
a pioneer and leader in its field. The firm has
been involved in the development of many of
the important rulings regarding IP laws, and
it deals in all areas of IP, offering its clients a
variety of IP services. The firm is internationally
and globally recognized for its expertise and
is highly ranked in prestigious rating directo-
ries in Israel and abroad. The firm’s approach,
combining lawyers specializing in IP and patent
attorneys, provides clients with broad and com-
prehensive service, enabling the examination
of inventions both from the technological and
the legal-property aspects.
50 Years of Family Excellence
In the early 1960s, the late Dr. Seligsohn, one of
the pioneers in the field of IP and the late Adv.
Arnan Gabrieli, founded the partnership Selig-
sohn Gabrieli & Co., fundamentally changing
the legal approach to IP in Israel, and played a
central role in the development of the ruling and
legislation in this field. Adv. Arnan Gabrieli was
for many years a member of the various legisla-
tion committees, which drew-up the main laws
of IP. Advs. Nahum and Ehud Gabrieli, second
generation of the Gabrieli family, joined the firm
21 and almost 16 years ago respectively, and
they continue the family tradition of excellence.
In 1983, the patent attorney Alfred Thee, one
of the leading and most experienced patent
attorneys in Israel, joined the firm and heads
the Patent Department.

rules applied by the late Adv. Arnan Gabrieli
throughout his 50 years of activity. The firm
represents a wide range of local and interna-
tional clients, including Israeli companies and
inventors, who benefit from the firm’s guidance
throughout the international application pro-
cess for patent registration abroad (PCT). The
firm also represents foreign companies operat-
ing in Israel. Seligsohn Gabrieli & Co. works
with well-known companies represented by
the firm over the course of several decades, in
Israel and abroad. Among its clients are leading
international conglomerates in various tech-
nological areas, leading companies in all the
areas of commerce and business. The firm also
represents authors and acts as external legal
advisor to ACUM – the Israel Copyright Society,
the largest corporation for collective manage-
ment of copyright in Israel.
Areas of Activity
Now in its sixth decade, the firm specializes
in all IP-related aspects and builds a compre-
hensive strategy to protect the client’s rights,
offering a wide range of services, including, in-
ter alia, initial advice on the ability to protect
an invention or design, advising clients in the
registration of patents in Israel and abroad, en-
forcing clients IP rights in courts. Litigation is
carried out by the firm’s experienced litigators,
before all the legal instances in the fields of
patents, trademarks, copyrights, designs and
trade secrets. The firm also counsels on new
media (Internet, mobile and social net-works)
and registration of domain names and owner-
ship disputes.
The Partners
Nahum Gabrieli - Specializes in litigation of
copyright, trademarks, patents and designs.
He has 21 years of experience in the manage-
ment of complex IP disputes. Nahum is an
expert in representation of clients in cases of
patent, copyright and trademark infringement,
passing off, motions for injunctions, as well as
litigation before the Registrar of Trademarks,
Patents and Designs. Nahum represents clients
in litigation of patent infringement concerning
various technologies, among others, in the field
of communication, pharmaceuticals and weap-
ons industry. Nahum is a member of the AIPPI
Israeli chapter as well as other associations
such as INTA, ALAI and IACC.
Ehud Gabrieli - Specializes in representation
of clients in copyright, design, plant breeders’
rights and trademark cases, as well as in cases
of infringement and usurpation of trade secrets.
Ehud has vast expertise in enforcing the rights
of trademark and copyright owners before the
Israeli Customs Authority, including seizure
and destruction of counterfeit imported goods.
Ehud is a member of the AIPPI Israeli chapter as
well as other organizations such as INTA, ALAI
and Marques.
In Memory of Adv. Arnan Gabrieli
In January 2015, Adv. Arnan Gabrieli, the Firm’s
founding partner and one of the most impor-
tant IP lawyers in Israel, passed away. Arnan
practiced law for over 50 years and was one of
the first advocates to specialize in IP in Israel.
In 1962 he established with Dr. Seligsohn the
partnership Seligsohn Gabrieli. Arnan stood
out as one of the leaders in IP and took part in
the development of many of the most important
precedents in the field. He advised local and
foreign clients, represented them in various
IP matters and was considered an authority in
this area. Among his public activities, he was
a member of the legislation committees for IP,
the Israeli Bar Association’s ethics committee
and was the chairman of the discipline com-
mittee for patent attorneys. For many decades
he lectured before thousands of students on
IP laws at Tel Aviv University and the College of
Management Academic Studies. May his soul
rest in peace.
