Clients and Services
The firm acts for almost all Israeli insurers, as
well as for foreign insurers and reinsurers who
operate in Israel, including Lloyd’s syndicates,
Allianz, Axa, Swiss Re, Munich Re, AIG, Zurich,
Chubb and others.
The range of services provided by the firm in-
cludes defense litigation work on all claim types
including class actions.
In addition, the firm provides monitoring ac-
tivities, legal opinions regarding Israeli laws,
interpretation of policies based on the Israeli
laws, Regulatory work and claims handling ser-
vices (T.P.A.) which include both technical and

Areas of Expertise
Financial Lines and Commercial Frauds: The firm
is known worldwide as a leading law firm in in-
surance of financial lines, such as Credit Insur-
ance, Directors and Officers, Bankers Blanket
Bonds and Jewelers Block policies.
Class Actions: Since the introduction of class ac-
tion to Israel (1996) the firm gained substantial
expertise in defense work of class action claims
in various areas - claims against insurance com-
panies as well as claims against manufacturers
(mainly pharmaceuticals).
Liability Insurance: The firm is involved in most
types of liability insurance including public li-
ability, employees’ liability, and various profes-
sional liabilities.
Insurance RegulatoryWork: The firm is involved
in various aspects of the Regulatory work which
is essential for the operation of Insurance
Companies.
Property Damage and Business Interruption:
The firm deals with complex and high value
property damage and business interruption
claims either as defense attorneys or as cover-
age attorneys.
Aviation: The firm has a large department that
specializes in handling aviation claims Hull
Product Liability, and third party bodily injury.
Subrogation claims: A special expertise of the
firm relates to subrogation claims. The firm is
commissioned to act by various Insurers who
were involved in substantial claims and are

Claims handling – T.P.A.: The firm has a subsid-
iary (C.H.C. Levitan, Sharon Claims Handling Co.)
which operates as T.P.A. for Insurance Compa-
nies and Insureds. Several Insurance Companies
such as Lloyds Syndicate, Clal Insurance Co.,
Phoenix Insurance Co., Ayalon Insurance Co.,
use the services of C.H.C. to handle run-offs.
The T.P.A. also handles claims with insured’s
deductibles.
Senior Partners
Rachel Levitan: Rachel Levitan, LLM, is the found-
er and the joint senior partner at Levitan Sharon
& Co Law Offices.
Rachel has written many articles on Israeli Insur-
ance Law and D&O Liability which have appeared
in international publications.
Rachel constantly lectures in professional semi-
nars and in different forums, including boards
of various conglomerates. In recent years Rachel
was the Academic Coordinator of several courses
for lawyers on Insurance Law organized by Univer-
sities and the Israeli Bar. Rachel also heads the
Israeli Bar Association Insurance Committee.
Rachel is the Israeli representative to the Inter-
national Bar Association organization which is
the largest organization of International Law-
yers. She serves on the board of the Herzliya
Interdisciplinary Center.
Peggy Sharon: Peggy heads the litigation de-
partment and has been involved in major Class
Actions and coverage litigations handled by the
firm in in recent years.
Peggy is responsible for important Supreme
Court precedents. Among Peggy’s publications
and lectures are The Israeli chapter in “Interna-
tional Execution Against Judgement Debtors”
published by Sweet & Maxwell; The Israeli sec-
tion in “Enforcement of Foreign Judgements”,
edited by J. Campbell and published by Kluwer;
The Israeli Chapter of “International Franchis-
ing” Comparative Law Yearbook of International
Business published by Kluwer Law International;
and The Israeli chapter of the comparative book
on: World Class Action edited by Baker Law.
Peggy lectures to insurance companies in Is-
rael, to lawyers and to directors and officers, in
seminars organized by L.A.H.V. in the Tel Aviv
University. Peggy is a representative of the Is-
raeli Section of AIDA Reinsurance Working Party,
a representative of the Israeli Chapter of AIDA in
the AIDA Europe Council, and a member of the
Presidential Council of AIDA.
