Law Firms - Defamation Law
Ron Lowenthal & Co. Law Offices
R
on Lowenthal & Co. Law Offices and
Notary was founded in 2005 by Ron Lo-
wenthal. A former media professional
and elected representative, he serves as Deputy
Chairman of the Israel Bar Tel Aviv District and
head of the Bar’s Defamation Committee. The
firm specializes in defamation, copyrights, la-
bor, family and municipal law.
Adv. Lowenthal’s background in the media and
municipal affairs allows the firm to provide a
firm base for suits in the media, media regula-
tion, libel and defamation, copyright, labor and
family law as well as municipal proceedings from
permits and proceedings in the local affairs court
and administrative and High Court petitions. The
firm has 6 lawyers and is ranked among D&B
2016’s “Outstanding Firms” regarding defama-
tion. The firm’s clients include media and com-
munications companies, national newspapers,
local newspapers, journalists, photographers,
artists and entertainers, modeling agencies,
public representatives, city councilors, public
workers, developers, employers with dozens of
workers and private employees, as well as busi-
ness owners requiring permits and licensing.
Creativity and legal-Technological Expertise
Creativity is required to provide solutions for
situations that are not purely legal, but stem
from rapid technological progress including
frenzied business competition and viral ads cre-
ating difficulties. The firm’s well-known creative
solutions and synergy between law and technol-
ogy, providing responses for interdisciplinary
needs, are the added value from which clients
benefit. Moreover, with the media advancing
more swiftly than the law, the firm’s in-depth
familiarity with the media helps translate legal
results into the language of the media.
The other side of the challenge is expressed in
the ability to professionally introduce the law
with new media. The firm provides a compre-
hensive raft of legal services designed to pro-
tect an individual’s name and honor of in libel
and defamation cases, civil suits and criminal
complaints, as well as libel suits combining em-
ployee rights or matrimonial law.
The approach of protecting one’s good name in-
cludes the prohibition of discrimination in clubs
and public places, equal opportunities at work,
suits against racism and erasing a criminal re-
cord that weighs on a person’s past yet harms
his name at the present.
The firm also works in all areas of protecting
privacy and orders against threatening harass-
ment. The firm has a labor law department to-
gether with defamation suits and separately,
social rights suits. In the personal and family
law field also combined defamation suits and
family suits separately.
Due to its founder’s background in the media,
the firm also specializes in copyrights protec-
tion and violation suits for both broadcasting
organizations and artists including arbitration
suits with ACUM, the Trademarks and Samples
Registrar, as well as suits and litigation for viola-
tion of IP rights.
