Mediterranean Sea water in Atlit. It has become

an integral part of the fabric of life in the towns of

Atlit and Eilat, providing employment and contrib-

uting to the community.

Salt of the Earth’s sustainability approach is in-

separable from the company’s overarching philos-

ophy. Since 2012, it has been participating in the

Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), publishing annual

sustainability reports. In 2013, Salt of the Earth

was the first Israeli company to submit its report in

compliance with the new GRI G4 standards.

The Ted Arison Family Foundation

A privately owned foundation, the philanthropic

arm of the Arison Group. It was established in

Miami in 1981 by Ted and Shari Arison, and

launched activities in Israel in 1993 headed by

Shari Arison. Today Jason Arison serves as the

foundation’s Chairman, which operates accord-

ing to business standards to advance strategic

philanthropy and innovative social investments

in education, culture, art and sports, children

and youth, disadvantaged populations, disabili-

ties and special needs, and health in Israel. The

foundation continues the Arison family legacy of

giving, through its annual grant making process

and the vision ventures it creates and runs.

The foundation views giving as a privilege and a

great responsibility, and is committed to sharing

the gift of giving while being mindful to the needs

of the community. Its worldview is rooted in three

JewishValues Charity, Chesed (acts of loving kind-

ness), and Tikun Olam (Hebrew phrase for repair

of the world).

The Ted Arison Family Foundation organiza-

tions and vision ventures

Matan – Investing in the Community

Established by Shari Arison in 1998, to promote

the value of giving and enhance the business

sector’s responsibility toward the communities

in which it operates. Based on UnitedWay, Matan

connects between businesses and communities,

to provide responses to social needs. It encour-

ages business to be involved in the Israeli com-

munity, and application of managerial standards

by NGOs.

Essence of Life

Founded by Shari Arison in 2001, to raise aware-

ness and offer tools for attaining inner peace,

which can bring peace to the world at large. It

provides tools in a broad and holistic approach,

which also includes Internet radio broadcasts and

experiential visits at its visitor’s center, Mahuti

(Hebrew for My Essence). Activities are tailored to

suit different audiences, including corporations,

for the public and private sectors.

Ruach Tova (Good Spirit)

Adopted by the foundation in 2003, Ruach Tova

(Hebrew for Good Spirit) serves as coordinators

and promoters of volunteering in Israel. It connects

between individuals who want to volunteer and

those in the Israeli community who seek volun-

teers. Ruch Tova also runs Shari Arison’s initia-

tive Good Deeds Day, in Israel and internationally.

Good Deeds Day, promotes doing good throughout

the year.

Good Deeds Day

Initiated by Shari Arison in 2007, Good Deeds

Day is a global annual tradition of doing good,

where hundreds of thousands across the world

do a good deed for the benefit of others, accord-

ing to their heart’s desire and skill. Good Deeds

Day is celebrated worldwide every March, and is

run by Ruach Tova as its annual flagship project.

Encouraging doing good throughout the year.

NASDAQ partneredwith Good Deeds Day in 2014,

2015, and 2016, honoring the day at The Nasdaq

Stock Market Opening and Closing ceremonies ,

advancing positive and values-based activities in

businesses and society. In 2015, the Pope hon-

ored the day in his weekly sermon.

On Good Deeds Day 2016, more than 1.3 million

people participated in Israel alone, with hundreds

of thousands inmore than 70 countries across the

globe. Participation reached an all high in Israel,

with almost all of the local authorities, hundreds

of schools, academic institutions, youth groups,

soldiers and students, andmore than 1,500 busi-

nesses taking part in over 14,000 dedicated proj-

ects country-wide. Millions of people took part in

Good Deeds Day across the globe.

All One

Founded by Shari Arison in 2007, to generate

global discussions about a new reality where our

interconnectedness and mutual responsibility is

realized. Through lectures from renowned experts,

All One encourages unity and raises awareness

that, everywhere on the face of the earth, we are

one.

Goodnet

Initiated by Shari Arison in 2011,

Goodnet.org

is a

gateway to activating people’s goodness. Goodnet

showcases personal, communal, and eco-planet

information on the net, and includes a compre-

hensive listings guide of apps and services for

volunteering, charity, causes, social action, well-

ness, the environment, and more. It offers users

a direct path to finding inspirational opportuni-

ties for doing good, everyday, anywhere. Since

its establishment, the platform serves millions of

people across the globe.

Artport

Initiated by Jason Arison in 2012, as the new art

arena in Israel. It is the flagship project of The Cen-

ter for Young Art, and serves as a creative, open,

and free haven for emerging artist. Offering an

enriching professional program, studio space and

financial support, Artport Tel-Aviv is community-

oriented, encouraging collaboration with the pub-

lic and social involvement.
