L
’Oréal Israel is a subsidiary of L’Oréal S.A.
(International), the world’s leading cos-
metics group. The Company manufactures,
imports, exports and markets leading cosmetics
brands including: L’Oréal Paris, Lancôme, Yves
Saint Laurent, Ralph Lauren, Giorgio Armani, Cacha-
rel, Diesel, Garnier, Maybelline NewYork, Vichy, La
Roche Posay, Essie, Kerastase, L’Oréal Profession-
nel, Matrix, Viktor &Rolf, Kiehl’s andmore. In 2014,
L’Oreal Israel’s turnover was NIS 492 million.
L’Oréal International – 106 Years of Beauty
L’Oréal International was founded in France in
1909. Today, 106 years later, L’Oréal is the larg-
est cosmetics concern in the world, operating in
130 countries with a turnover of €22.53 billion in
2014, and about 78,600 employees. The Company
manufactures 32 hair care products, make-up, per-
fumes, sun-care products, skin care products and
more, in its 40 factories around the world including
the plant in Migdal Haemek, Israel. L’Oréal em-
phasizes innovation as one of its key values. More
than thousand employees fromdifferent scientific
disciplines work in the Company’s research and
development field. The Company invested about
€761million in 2014 in R&D (3.4%of sales). Each
year the Company registers hundreds of patents
(501 patents were registered in 2014) and devel-
ops thousands of formulas. L’Oréal attributes great
importance to proper corporate governance, to the
quality of the environment and to contribution to
the community. In the field of corporate governance
and ethical conduct, the Company has been cho-
sen as the leading Company in its area of activity
by top international ratings agencies. The Company
is committed tomulticultural advertising, impartial
employment and appropriate working conditions
(in suppliers’ factories too), to developing and
enhancing employees, and to product safety. In
the area of environmental quality, the Company
has achieved wide-scale recognition as one of the
most sustainable companies in the world. L’Oréal
reduced its carbon emissions, its water and energy
consumption and its waste production by more
than 20%. The Company’s research in the 80’s led
to the development of the Episkin, artificial skin,
which serves as an alternative to animal testing. In
community activities, L’Oréal operates donations
and philanthropy programs, including L’Oréal-
UNESCO Partnership “For Women in Science”,
“LookGood Feel Better” a program to increase the
self confidence of breast cancer sufferers, “Hair-
dressers against Aids” and more.
L’Oréal Israel – A Company with French Scent
L’Oréal Israel was purchased by L’Oréal Interna-
tional between the years 1994-1999, and currently
93% of the shares are owned by L’Oréal Interna-
tional, and 7% owned by private investors, Gad
and Dan Propper. On june 2015 Elie Sagiv was ap-
pointed as CEO of the company in Israel. Currently
the Company has 1,097 employees (permanent
and outsourced), of whom 80% are women, in 3
operation centers in Israel.
The Company has 4 Business Divisions, a Fac-
tory, Logistics Center & Common Services
L’Oreal’s business model is based on building
powerful brands with expertise in each of the dis-
tribution channels (retail chains, drugstores, de-
partment stores, pharmacies, salons and more).
In the broad distribution market (Mass Market),
the Consumer products division is working with
brands: L’Oréal Paris, Maybelline NewYork, Garnier
and Essie. In the luxurymarket, the luxury products
division markets skincare and fragrance brands
such as Lancôme, YvesSaint Laurent, Kiehl’s, Gior-
gio Armani, Cacharel, Ralph Lauren, Diesel, Paloma
Picasso and Viktor & Rolf. In the professional mar-
ket, the Professional products divisionmarkets the
L’Oreal Professional, Kerastase, Matrix and Essie
brands to hairdressers and beauty salons.
The Cosmetic Active division sells the brandsVichy
and La Roche Posay to pharmacies.
• The Company’s factory inMigdal HaEmek, which
manufactures hair and skin care products, exports
mainly to Europe and North America. The factory
was recognized as an approved enterprise and en-
joys the attendant benefits within the framework
of this investment plan. Also the factory gets tax
benefits as it is a preferred factory.
• The Logistics Center in Caesarea with the supply
chain Management and the inventory control.
• The management, the marketing and the head-
quarters offices in Netanya.

Social Responsibility
L’Oréal Israel dedicates resources to a variety of ac-
tivities for the Israeli community:
L’Oréal-UNESCO
Project “For Women in Science” –
A global proj-
ect intended to acknowledge the contribution
of young women scientists to scientific progress
and to encourage the participation of women in
scientific research. Four Israeli women have won
prizeswithin the frameworkof this project; In 2004,
Victoria Yavelsky won the young scientist’s prize. In
2008, Prof. Ada Yonath of theWeizmann Institute,
who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2009. In
2011 another young Israeli scientist called Hagar
Gelbart-Sagiv was awarded the prize. In 2012, Dr.
Naama Geva-Zatursky and in 2013 Osnat Zomer-
Pen were added to this list of honor. Since 2009,
the Project has also been implemented locally,
and in its framework scholarships amounting to
NIS 50,000 each are granted to 2 Israeli women
scientists every year.
“Adopt a Brother/Sister –
L’Oréal” Project –
scholarships are given to 30
students from Netanya College who act as tutors
and older siblings to pupils of Ethiopian origin from
“Moreshet Zvulun” School in Netanya.
Citizen Day
Every year, on the Citizen Day the L’Oreal employ-
ees volunteer and help the community.
There were 3 projects for the 2015 Citizen Day:
• “Neve-Hadar” boarding school for socially chal-
lenged children – renovating, painting decorating,
providing and assembling of new furniture for the
school family rooms.
• “Shelter for abused women” in Herzlya – L’Oreal
experienced employees did their hair and their
nails and brought warmth and care to make those
women feel a little bit better.
• “SOS center for orphaned and abandoned chil-
dren – the factory employees in Migdal Ha’emek
helped renovating the center”.
