Israel was established in 2001

and is a subsidiary of Estée Lauder

Companies.

Elcalil Ltd. is Israel’s leading cosmetics group

and is engaged in, importing, exporting, mar-

keting, and distributing 12 leading cosmetic

brands including: Bobbi Brown, MAC, Clinique,

Estée Lauder, Smashbox, JO Malone London

and the perfume brands of Michael Kors, DKNY,

Tom Ford, Tommy Hilfiger, Aramis and more.

Currently, The Group manages and activates 23

MAC stores nationwide, 8 Bobbi Brown ones, 2

Jo Malone London and 1 Clinique store.

The company has 900 employees and has been

ranked in the BDI rating as one of the top 100

companies to work for in Israel, three years

in a row.

Estée Lauder Companies Group

Estée Lauder Companies Group is one of

the world’s leading manufacturers in quality

skin care, make-up, perfumes and hair care

products.

The company’s products are sold in over 150

countries under brand names that include:

Estée Lauder, JO Malone London, Aramis, Clin-

ique, Tommy Hilfiger, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Tom

Ford, Michael Kors, Smashbox, and more.

The company began its operations in 1946

when Estée and her husband Joseph Lauder

started manufacturing cosmetic products in

New York City.

At first they manufactured only four products

including Cleansing Oil, Skin Lotion, Super Rich

All-purpose Creme and Creme Pack.

Two years later in 1948, they began selling the

company’s products in the SACKS Fifth Avenue

department store in, New York.

In 1960, the company began its international

development and started selling its products

in London, then Hong Kong. Subsequently the

company also expanded to the Middle East

and Africa as well.

In 1967, Estée Lauder herself was chosen as

one of the ten women in the US that had best

excelled in businesses by financial and busi-

ness editors.

In the same year the company again expanded

its areas of activity by opening Clinic Labora-

tories Ltd.

Clinic was the first cosmetic skin product not

using scent and checked for allergies by the

Estée Lauder Company.

Activities for the Community

The Estée lauder Group of Companies works

tirelessly throughout the years on voluntary

activities.

The main ones include:

Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

In October 1992, the breast cancer awareness

campaign was launched by Evelyn Lauder Es-

tées daughter in-law).

Since then millions of people around the world

have heard the message about the importance

of breast health and that early detection can

save lives.

The campaign currently operates in over 70

countries and to date has raised over $50 mil-

lion for supporting research, education, and

medical services throughout the world.

VIVA GLAM

The AIDS Fund of MAC Cosmetics (one of the

Group’s brands) leads the global struggle

against HIV and AIDS.

Over the past 20 years, MAC Cosmetics has

launched an exclusive line of VIVA GLAM prod-

ucts that includes 7 lipsticks and 5 lip-glosses,

of which 100% of product sales are donated

for the battle against AIDS.

The items were promoted by celebrities ad

campaigns, including : Sir Elton John, Mary J.

Blige, Christina Aguilera, Nicki Minaj, Fergie,

Lisa Marie Presley, Cyndi Lauper and Lady Gaga.

To date the fund has raised $270 million.

Activities for the Community – Israel

Like the parent company, in Israel as well the

Estée Lauder Group of companies has been

working for the past 13 years in collaboration

with the Israel Cancer Association to promote

awareness about breast cancer.

As part of this joint project, each October sites

around Israel are illuminated in pink, including:

Ancient Jaffa, Jerusalem’s Chords Bridge, Tel

Aviv’s Azrieli Center, David’s Tower in Jerusa-

lem, the Shrine of the Book in Jerusalem, the

University of Haifa, and more.

The campaigns in Israel were awarded the

silver award by the EFFIE Organization (for ef-

fectiveness in marketing).

VIVA GLAM –

MAC works in Israel too with col-

laboration from the Israel AIDS Task Force each

November when the VIVA GLAM event is held.

The company works in collaboration with the

Israel AIDS Task Force and the Jerusalem Open

House.
