Fattal Hotels Ltd.

F

attal Hotels Ltd. is an Israeli hotel man-

agement company owned and managed

by the hotelier and businessman David

Fattal. The company manages and owns 35

hotels in Israel and 65 hotels across Europe

under independent brands such as Magic, U

Hotels, Leonardo, Herods, Rothschild 22 and

NYX Tel Aviv.

David Fattal is one of the most noticeable and

influential figures in Israeli tourism with over

35 years experience. He was responsible for

introducing the Holiday Inn brand into Israel (for

Africa-Israel), and in 1999 founded the Fattal

Hotel Management company.

The company, established just 18 years ago,

managed one hotel, Le Meridien Eilat, has over

the years added management agreements with

other hotels and brought international hotel

brands into Israel with special managerial style

and concepts.

Since then, Fattal has expanded activities and

purchased a variety of hotels therefore mak-

ing it owner as well as manager and include:

Magic Nirvana Club, Dead Sea; Palmira, Eilat;

Paradise, Eilat; Basel Tel Aviv etc.

In 2009, the company completed Israel’s most

major hotel deal when it acquired the 12 hotels

of the Azorim Tourism chain (formerly Sheraton

and Accor) in the amount of 970 million shekels

making Fattal the largest hotel chain in Israel.

This enabled the chain to expand its activities to

new locations such as Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

The chain currently owns 28 hotels throughout

Israel. These include flagship hotels such as

Herod’s in Eilat, Herod’s in Tel Aviv, Leonardo

Plaza and Leonardo City Tower in Ramat Gan,

Rothschild 22 and NYX Tel Aviv. The chain later

opened the U Coral Beach Club, Eilat, the first

ultra all-inclusive hotel in Israel. In recent years,

the company has opened additional hotels in-

cluding Herods Herzliya, Leonardo Plaza Ne-

tanya, Leonardo Plaza Ashdod, Rothschild 22

and NYX Tel Aviv.

The chain also entered the boutique hotel sec-

tor and established a luxury boutique hotel in

Tel Aviv’s Ramat Hachayal designed by Liora

Ofer and Yehoshua Kastiel at an investment of

€50 million.

The principle uniting all the chain’s hotels is the

commitment by employees and management

alike to provide guests with perfect pleasure

under the chain’s slogan “Fattal Hosts with

Love”.

The Fattal chain brings innovation and fresh-

ness to Israeli tourism and was the first to intro-

duce the all inclusive concept to the Dead Sea,

Tiberias and Eilat, to consolidate new standards

of culture and entertainment combining the

country’s leading artists and more.

Today the hotel chain encompasses all of Is-

rael’s main leisure sites from north to south

and offers a wide range of concepts suited to

every pocket and purpose: business tourism

and conferences; city tourism; leisure; family

vacations; boutique tourism; romantic vacation

packages and more. The chain operates 8,000

rooms in Israel.

The chain’s 2016 revenue from Israel activities

was 1.6 billion shekels and it employees 6,500

employees in Israel.

Fattal Overseas

In 2006, Fattal expanded its activities to Europe

through an investment fund in partnership with

Delek Real Estate, Migdal, Mivtachim, Dorad

and Menorah. The fund invests in 3-4 star busi-

ness and city hotels. The company manages 67

hotels in Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Austria,

Switzerland, the UK, Spain, Italy, the Czech Re-

public and the Netherlands, of which 50 are

owned by the Fattal chain or the fund in which

it is a partner. All the European hotels operate

under the independent Leonardo brand.

Annual revenue from the chain’s European op-

erations amounts to €280 million with 3,500

employees.

Leonardo

The Fattal chain’s independent brand, Leon-

ardo, which was set up in Europe 5 years ago,

and ipntroduced to Israel as well, operates 90

hotels (25 in Israel and 65 in Europe). Fattal

plans turning Leonardo into one of the world’s

leading tourism brands.

Contribution to the Community and

Social Involvement

The Fattal Hotel chain also works for the com-

munity. Each hotel works for its community and

the Fattal chain strives to employ those with

disabilities in various departments, including
