Mekorot supplies about 85% of

Israel’s drinking water, 70% of consumption. Has

3,000 facilities, 12,000 kmof pipeline, 1,000 pools

water supply system integratesmost of the regional

water plants, the National Water Carrier, New Na-

tional Water Carrier, the Yarkon Negev plant and

more. The system combines water from: the Sea

of Galilee, Mountain and Coastal Aquifers, drilling

and desalinated sea and brackish water.

Mekorot continues to develop Israel’swater indus-

try through dozens of projects. The group has com-

pleted the NewNationalWater Carrier System - the

largest national water project since the construc-

receives desalinated seawater from the plants lo-

cated along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea,

and creates a revolutionary water system, water

will now be supplied in all directions!

Another major project of Mekorot for the com-

ing years is the 5th Water Supply System

to Jerusalem.

An additional complex and important engineer-

ing project is the connection of the Northern and

Central Arava to the national water system, which

currently relies on local drilling only, can also ben-

efit from another reliable water source.

• Developing, Producing and Integrating Water

from multiple sources in the national system.

• Treatment

of fresh water, brackish water, seawa-

ter, domestic and industrial effluents.

• Ongoing Improvement ofWater Quality

through

the implementation of advanced and innovative

water purification technologies and performing

water quality tests in highly advanced and mod-

ern laboratories. The Central Filtration Plant, is the

fourth largest of its kind in the world. It positions

Israel at the forefront of the Western world in the

area of water treatment.

• Water Production through:

Wastewater

––

Treatment of about 30% of

Israel’s treated wastewater, and reclamation

of about 60% of the water effluent reclaimed

for agriculture

Desalination of Brackish and Sea Water

––

at 39

facilities and 4 sea-water desalinators

Flow Catchment -
