Maritime, Aviation & Transportation
S. Friedman has been at the core of this sector for
over seven decades and is the most identified law
firm in Israel’s shipping sector. The firm acts for
the largest global shipping companies, including
the leading operators in Israel. Our work for these
clients comprises building and selling vessels,
partnership agreements, consortia agreements,
logistics agreements, maritime insurance and in-
ternational forwarding. In the aerospace sector, the
firmadvises aviation clients includingmanufactur-
ers and firms in the acquisition, sale and leasing

Commercial & Corporate
S. Friedman’s Corporate department has decades

revenue sharing arrangements, development and

Israeli and Global Taxation
The firm has one of Israel’s largest and leading
Tax departments, providing clients with creative
and breakthrough tax planning solutions for op-
erations in Israel and abroad. The department has
comprehensive experience and deep knowledge
of Israeli, US and Asian tax methodology, working
closely with the Israel Tax Authority and profes-
sionals abroad, thus enabling clients to tap into
the comprehensive and effective tax advice and
planning. The department’s work includes advice
on Israeli taxes, income tax, real estate tax, VAT,
municipal tax, and tax litigation. In addition, the
firm has a unique specialization in multinational
tax planning, including tax planning optimization,
investment in deals with international partners,
international aspects of VAT and transfer pricing.

before the Israel Tax Authority, appeal committees

Mergers & Acquisitions
S. Friedman’s M&A department has considerable

stage to its completion including due diligence,
negotiations, the remuneration of employees and
incentives for senior executives, as well as obtain-
ing any relevant regulatory approvals. The depart-
ment’s lawyers have rich international experience

Litigation & Class Action
S. Friedman’s Litigation department has exten-
sive experience in representing clients before
the Israeli courts, in domestic and international
arbitration andmediation proceedings. The depart-
ment handles complex cases in a range of areas
including commercial, corporations, tenders, real
estate, antitrust, maritime, higher education, ad-
ministrative petitions, torts, insurance and more.
The department represents defendants in class
actions and has been involved in many important
rulings on points of principle including rulings by
the Supreme Court.
Intellectual Property
S. Friedman has an experienced IP department,
with a team that handles copyright, designs, de-
velopers’ rights, commercial injustice and more.
In addition, the department works closely with
colleagues in civil law fields including litigation,

High-Tech
S. Friedman’s High-Tech department represents
startups, entrepreneurs and investors from their
establishment to their exit, representing founders
and companies in capital raising. The department
provides advice and ongoing legal support in com-
mercial areas including licensing, development
and cooperation agreements, Chief Scientist Of-
fice programs and more. The department acts for
the technology transfer company of one of Israel’s
leading universities on IP commercialization deals,
and an investment fund which the firm assisted in
its establishment (a fund specializing in pharma-
ceutical projects). The department closely supports

Securities and Capital Markets
S. Friedman’s Securities and Capital Markets
department, has extensive experience in provid-
ing consultancy and acting for public and private
corporations, investment funds, management and
investment companies, mutual funds, provident
funds, directors, executives and individuals on
matters related to financing, securities and the
capital markets. In addition, the department rep-
resents clients before authorities and regulators
such as Israel’s Securities Authority and TASE. As
well as supports securities deals, purchase offers,
