Banking, Finance & International Deals
S. Friedman has extensive experience in handling
international deals, including financings, banking
and international trade. The firmhas formed joint
ventures inmany countries and advises clients on
how to effectively use their local understanding,
thus helping clients to grasp, manage or over-
come any commercial risks.
Higher Education
S. Friedman is the only large law firm in Israel
to specialize in this field, representing a record
number of higher education institutions and pro-
viding legal services in higher learning, including:
opinions, acting in legal and tender proceedings,
tax law consultancy, scholarships and higher ed-
ucation taxation, ongoing consultancy on labor
laws and staff pensions, and promoting legisla-
tion. Due to the firm’s leadership in this field, the
department serves as an internal legal advisor to
one of Israel’s largest universities.
Labor Law
S. Friedman’s Labor Law department has exten-
sive experience in advising large corporations and
employers on labor relations and work disputes
with individuals and groups of employees. The
firm represents both employers subject to collec-
tive agreements, and employees with individual
agreements, including startups. The department
maintains long-term relations with clients, a tes-
timony to their satisfaction.
Real Estate & Infrastructure
S. Friedman’s Real Estate and Infrastruc-
ture department advises clients on major
projects in Israel and abroad, and is involved in
cross-border financing, planning and acquisitions.
The department advises consortia on planning
and building (including BOT and PFI) and turnkey
projects, the formation of joint ventures, tender
consortia, and in financing and implementing
projects. The department also handles real estate
and infrastructure deals including purchases and
sales, combination deals, support on develop-
ment and financing deals, project management
and infrastructure agreements.
Antitrust
S. Friedman’s Antitrust department represents
companies in a range of antitrust lawmatters, in-
cluding opinions on antitrust matters, represent-
ing parties before the antitrust regulator (such
as declaration of monopolies, mergers, cartels,
financial sanctions etc.) and antitrust-related
litigation proceedings.
Tenders
S. Friedman’s Antitrust department has compre-
hensive experience acting for a range of clients
in tenders and has played a central role in the
introduction of obligatory tenders at several uni-
versities. The department also represents clients
in many court discussions, with a track record of
obtaining favorable rulings.
Torts & Insurance
S. Friedman has a longstanding and significant
experience in representing maritime clients
dealing with accidents on board (injury to port
workers, contract workers, sailors etc.) and ne-
gotiations with insurance companies, employees
and collective insurance. As well as building de-
fect claims (acting for tenants and contractors)
and representing major insurance companies in
various tort claims.
