Rami Levy Chain Stores Hashikma Marketing 2006 Ltd.

R

ami Levy Shivuk Hashikma Chain was

established to provide inexpensive food

and household products to consumers.

The company provides effective solutions that

have gone beyond marketing wholesale food

to the public.

The company is owned by Rami Levy (48.7%)

and strives to benefit the consumer in a wide

range of areas by setting the lowest prices. Ac-

cording to this vision, the company has estab-

lished its status as “The cheapest basket of

products in the country” and has also entered

the cellular phone market as an MVNO, insur-

ance with other activities soon to come.

Group History

The chain began operating in 1976 in a single

store in Jerusalem’s Mahane Yehuda market

after identifying the need for wholesale prices

for consumers. Rami Levy then offered food,

and cleaning products at low prices by reduc-

ing middlemen. In a short while he began

marketing to the city’s businesses including

restaurants, hotels, and other businesses.

He opened his first large store in Jerusalem’s

Talpiot in 1992 and has continued to spread

around the country.

Positioning, Growth and Financial Stability

The Group operates 38 supermarkets and copes

successfully with the challenges of a competi-

tive market through its strategy of commitment

to focusing on the customer, maintaining com-

petitive prices, but not at the expense of qual-

ity, service and range of products. The company

has been traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange

since 2007, and has reported a continual growth

in its economic results since the offering. The

company plans operating 50 stores by the end

of 2016 through a national network.
